Spring has finally sprung in Minnesota and I’m thoroughly enjoying the green grass and chirping birds 😉 I tend to favor lighter fragrances year round, but if you’re the type of person who changes up your perfume with the seasons, now is a good time to switch things up! Here are a few scents I’m enjoying for spring.
Stella McCartney Stella eau de toilette is a long-time fav, as you can see. It’s what I would call a fresh floral. I’m lousy at describing scents so here is what Sephora’s website says: Notes of Mandarin, Frozen Lemon, Freesia, Bulgarian Rose, Violet Leaves, Peony Petals, Amber. It’s not the longest lasting scent I own, but I just love it. I love the feminine bottle too.
I have gone through a purse spray in the past, but I don’t see it on Sephora’s website so maybe check your local store.
Commodity fragrances are relatively new to me, but the brand is all over Instagram. The brand’s concept is that all of their scents are unisex. I have smelled many of them (through their Style Guide* with nine scents) and I don’t think all of them are unisex, but most of them are. Case in point: Tea.* My husband doesn’t wear any type of fragrance and when I first sprayed this, without even prompting him, he said he liked it and he would consider wearing it too. The key notes are Honey, Egyptian Basil, and Tobacco. I would never have picked this up based on the notes, but I do enjoy it. I think it does smell a bit like tea. It’s an earthier scent than I generally gravitate toward, but I like it for “tomboy” days. It would work well year-round, but if you favor warmer, deeper scents, this would be a nice way to lighten things up for spring.
Nectar is one of Commodity‘s most recent releases and it was love at first smell! This is a fresh citrusy scent that would be perfect for spring. The key notes are Juicy Pomelo, Neroli, and Tangerine. The neroli keeps it from being sweet. I picked up the purse spray immediately but I’d love to add the full size bottle to my collection.
All of the Commodity scents I’ve tried are very long-lasting.
Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia is a fruity floral with notes of King William Pear, Freesia, and Patchouli. I like this one on its own or mixed with her popular Basil & Neroli fragrance. One nice thing about Jo Malone is that she sells a ton of products in each scent so if you find one you love, you can buy a variety of body and home products to match. Jo Malone is also available at Nordstrom.
If you’re inclined to refresh your collection, there are a few promotions going on through Mother’s Day:
1) Sephora is offering 3x points on fragrance
2) Commodity has several generous gifts with purchase to choose from with the purchase of a full size fragrance
3) Jo Malone is offering a complimentary deluxe sample and two day shipping with a $50 purchase
Let me know what your favorite spring fragrance is!
*Gifted by the brand without expectation. As always, all opinions are my own.
